Biography

John obtained his Master’s degree in Pharmacy through Queens University Belfast.

John went on to complete a clinical diploma from the University of Manchester and PTQA from the University of Leeds.

He has 15 years’ experience of Hospital Pharmacy. After completing several years as a Clinical Pharmacist where he specialised in Haematology and Nutrition, he progressed into Technical Services spending 9 years as the Deputy Aseptic Manager and then Aseptic Manager at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Over the last 3 years he has taken the post as Medicines Assurance and Aseptic Services Manager at Salford Royal Hospitals NHS University Teaching Trust.

He has been a member of the NHS Pharmaceutical Aseptic Services Group (PASG)  since 2013, vice chair from 2015. He also administers the PASG website and discussion forum.

John is an honorary lecturer at the University of Manchester and teaches on both the PTQA and STP Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences courses.

John is the current course director of Aseptic Services for Managers run by the University of Leeds.
