Hilary McKeen graduated in pharmacy from Queens University Belfast.
Now a consultant pharmacist working in rheumatology and care of the elderly. She has worked in rheumatology for 18 years and has been very involved in development of pharmacist-led clinics. As an independent prescriber , she now runs four rheumatology review clinics per week, specialising in patients with inflammatory arthritis. In addition she now runs her own “gout clinic”.
She is involved in teaching undergraduate pharmacy students.
Hilary is a member of the Regional Rheumatology expert group, and sits on the Regional Biologics committee. She is currently involved in development of NICE guidelines for treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Instrumental in setting up the group Rheumatology Pharmacists UK (RPUK) and she is a clinical lead for UKCPA Rheumatology group.
She led the Northern Trust s award winning “Nursing Home Outreach Project” which is now being rolled out regionally in Northern Ireland.
She is also now involved in the strategic development of care of older people.
